The New Zealand Breakers have officially signed former Indiana Pacers F/C Rakeem Christmas for the remainder of the season, the team has announced.
The 26-year-old Christmas arrived in New Zealand on Monday and will serve as the team’s third import along with Edgar Sosa and D.J. Newbill.
Christmas was the 36th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves before being acquired by the Pacers.
Christmas played 30 games for the Pacers during his brief NBA career, compiling averages of 2.1 points and 1.9 rebounds in 7.5 minutes per game.
The athletic big man who is able to play both frontcourt spots, most recently played for Galatasaray of the Turkish Basketball Super League.
The Breakers waived F/C James Hunter to create a roster spot for Christmas.
